A major job scam has come to light in Pune, where hundreds of job seekers have alleged being cheated by fraudulent hiring consultants. According to reports, more than 400 complaints have been filed by victims who claim they were asked to pay hefty fees in exchange for job placements.
In many cases, victims reportedly received their first salary, creating a sense of trust. However, payments stopped soon after, and the consultants allegedly asked them to resign in order to process refunds of the fees. This tactic left many individuals financially and emotionally distressed.
Authorities have taken action in the case, with two founders of the involved firms being arrested. Investigations are ongoing to identify the full extent of the scam and any additional individuals involved.
The incident has raised serious concerns about fraudulent job placement agencies and the need for stricter verification processes. Job seekers are advised to be cautious, avoid paying large upfront fees, and verify the authenticity of recruitment firms before engaging with them.
