Indian Oil Corporation hikes industrial diesel prices by 25 percent amid rising crude costs

Indian Oil Corporation has significantly raised the price of industrial diesel by 25 percent, marking a sharp increase that is expected to impact multiple sectors. The revised price has gone up from ₹87.67 per litre to ₹109.59 per litre, reflecting rising input costs in the global energy market.
This price hike comes shortly after oil marketing companies such as HPCL and BPCL increased the prices of premium petrol by up to ₹2.35 per litre. The back to back revisions indicate a broader trend of rising fuel costs across categories.
One of the main reasons behind the surge is the recent increase in global crude oil prices, largely influenced by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Supply uncertainties and market volatility have pushed prices upward, affecting domestic fuel pricing in India.
The increase in industrial diesel prices is likely to have a ripple effect on transportation, manufacturing, and logistics sectors, potentially leading to higher operational costs and increased prices of goods and services. Experts believe that if global crude prices remain high, further adjustments in fuel prices cannot be ruled out.
