An Indian expatriate living in Dubai has earned widespread praise after demonstrating exceptional honesty by returning a large amount of cash he found in a public place. Mohammed Ali Sherakal Mohi was honoured by Dubai Police after he handed over 100,000 UAE Dirhams, equivalent to approximately ₹22.7 lakh, that he discovered in a parking area.
According to reports, Mohi found the cash and immediately informed the authorities instead of attempting to locate the owner on his own. Dubai Police quickly launched efforts to identify the rightful owner and successfully returned the money within a few hours.
Recognising his integrity and sense of civic responsibility, Dubai Police publicly honoured Mohi for his actions. Officials described his conduct as an example of honesty, trust, and the strong values that contribute to the safe and secure environment of the United Arab Emirates.
The incident has attracted attention across social media, where many users praised the Indian expatriate for setting an example of ethical behaviour. Several commentators noted that such actions help strengthen public trust and encourage responsible citizenship.
Dubai is known for its strict laws and high standards of public safety, and authorities often recognise residents who demonstrate honesty and community spirit. Mohi’s actions have been widely appreciated as a reminder that integrity and good character continue to play an important role in society.
The story has become an inspiring example of how a simple act of honesty can make a significant impact and earn respect from both authorities and the public.
